The reader
The key is a free app.
Every work carries a second layer: the text itself, written into the helix. To read it you need the reader — a small web app that runs on your phone, offline, without an account.
How to read a work

Hold a print
A print at 100 % scale, A4 or larger. A screen is not enough: a photo of a screen has too few pixels per rung.

Open the reader
It runs in the browser. Add it to your home screen and it keeps working without a network — the format is meant to outlive servers.

Photograph the whole sheet
Flat, in even light, with the four corner marks and the colour legend inside the frame. The reader finds the marks by itself; if one is off, a tap corrects it.

Read
The text appears in a moment — letter for letter, as it was written.
What happens in that moment

The four corner marks fix the perspective, so a photo taken at an angle becomes a flat sheet again.

The colour legend calibrates the camera. Every phone sees red a little differently; the legend tells the reader what red looks like today.

The strip along the top carries the recipe of the geometry. The reader rebuilds the line from it and knows exactly where every rung should be.

Each rung is one of four colours — two bits. Error correction of the same family used on compact discs repairs what a shadow, a smudge or a scratch destroyed.

Install it on your phone
Open the reader in Safari or Chrome, then: Share → Add to Home Screen, or menu → Install app. From then on it opens like any app, with or without a network.
